How to Fail Successfully: Peter’s Road to the Cross

The sports and business communities have long embraced some form of the slogan popularized by Michael Jordan, “To learn to succeed, you must first learn to fail.” The disciple Peter certainly learned about failure as he traveled with Jesus on his way to the cross. In fact, Peter’s journey included greater failure than he ever dreamt possible in the heartbreaking disgrace of his disavowal of his teacher, Jesus. But Peter’s journey to the cross was also the path to the love, forgiveness, and empowerment of God that transformed him into a pillar of Jesus’ fledgling church.

Join us as we accompany Peter on the road to the cross and invite his experience to inform our own. We will pay attention to the ways our failures can open us to God’s transforming love and grace in ways we may not have imagined possible.

At the retreat, we’ll offer teaching, some resources and time for quiet personal reflection, and delicious refreshments.
