Growing: Time Outs and Retreats

WellSpring offers a variety of retreats to help enliven your relationship with God.

There are many helpful books written about the need for spiritual formation and the practices that encourage growth. Our purpose is to provide settings and facilitators to accompany you in the actual process. We are a laboratory not a text book.

We are committed to helping each person discover their unique and individual rhythms for growing in their relationship with Jesus.

And we help you to develop practices that make that abundant life sustainable in your everyday circumstances.

Each retreat offers input on a theme and leads you into ways of engaging with God including directed silence and solitude, guided meditation on scripture, prayer and listening, artistic expression, journaling and other practices to enliven your conversation.

How to Fail Successfully: Peter’s Road to the Cross

The sports and business communities have long embraced some form of the slogan popularized by Michael Jordan, “To learn to succeed, you must first learn to fail.” The disciple Peter certainly learned about failure as he traveled with Jesus on his way to the cross. In fact, Peter’s journey included greater failure than he ever dreamt possible in the heartbreaking disgrace of his disavowal of his teacher, Jesus. But Peter’s journey to the cross was also the path to the love, forgiveness, and empowerment of God that transformed him into a pillar of Jesus’ fledgling church.

Join us as we accompany Peter on the road to the cross and invite his experience to inform our own. We will pay attention to the ways our failures can open us to God’s transforming love and grace in ways we may not have imagined possible.
