Growing: Small Groups: Men’s Spiritual Formation Groups

“So if you’re serious about living this new resurrection life with Christ, act like it. Pursue the things over which Christ presides…Look up, and be alert to what is going on around Christ—that’s where the action is. See things from his perspective.”

– Colossians 3: 1-2 (Msg)

Christian Spiritual Formation is the process of transforming our inner person so that our natural expression comes to be the deeds of Christ done in the power of Christ. Wellspring offers two men’s groups focused on assisting one another in this process. We study and discuss books and devotional guides interspersed with times for contemplative prayer, guided individual reflection, sharing and fellowship.

We read books by a variety of authors including St. Augustine, the Desert Fathers, St. Francis, Thomas a Kempis, Thomas Kelly, A. W. Tozer, Henri Nouwen, Thomas Merton, Richard Foster, Dallas Willard, John Ortberg as well as books about Ignatian spirituality.

There are two groups.  One meets on Tuesday evenings and the other on Wednesday mornings.  Both meet weekly from September through May in Menlo Park. Periodic retreats are also available which accommodate larger groups.

The Tuesday evening group is open to men between the ages of 22-35.  The Wednesday morning group is currently full. Space is limited and there is an application process.
Please contact our facilitator for information about the Tuesday evening group or about participation in an upcoming retreat.
